DESCRIPTION:Listen\n        \n        The importance of providing clear and consistent guidance to communities on incident management planning\, response and recovery issues is critical. FEMA recognizes that effective planning and management of incident issues requires extensive training and experience. The Introduction to the National Incident Management System and Incident Command System combined course is designed to provide that training through a localized nationally sponsored and directed instruction. The goal of the course is to enable State\, Tribal\, and local government personnel to receive a basic understanding of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS). This will prepare these groups to coordinate with response partners from all levels of government and private sector. \nCourse Description Flyer \nCOURSE OBJECTIVES\n• Describe the intent of NIMS\, key concepts and principles\, the purpose of NIMS components\, and the National Integration Center (NIC)\n• Recognize ICS applications\, organizational principles and elements\, positions and responsibilities\, facilities\, and planning \nPREREQUISITES: None \nTARGET AUDIENCE\nThis course is designed for State\, Tribal\, local officials\, volunteer organizations and private sector who are responsible for planning\, managing\, and/or implementing response activities for all types of incidents. \nThe training and course materials are provided at no cost to the state\, local organization\, or responder.
